Morning

- Hotel pickup from Shanghai
- Drive to Zhujiajiao (about 1 hour)
1. Kezhi Garden

The largest and most famous private garden in Zhujiajiao. It combines traditional Chinese garden design with some Western-style buildings. You will see peaceful ponds, pavilions, long winding corridors, rockeries, a tall library tower, and beautiful lotus pools. It shows the life of a wealthy ancient family.
2. Hexin Garden

A smaller but very delicate Jiangnan garden. It is quiet and elegant, with a unique water stage (the only one in Shanghai), small bridges, clear ponds, bonsai trees, and lovely pavilions. It is a great place for relaxing and taking photos.
3. Fangsheng Bridge

The most famous landmark of Zhujiajiao. Built in 1571 during the Ming Dynasty, it is a beautiful 5‑arch stone bridge. Its name means “releasing fish” – a traditional local practice of showing kindness to animals. From the bridge, you can enjoy the best panoramic view of the whole water town.

4. North Street

The main ancient street of Zhujiajiao. It is lined with old shops, red lanterns, traditional food stalls, handmade crafts, and local snacks. Walking here makes you feel like going back to old times.
5. Qing Dynasty Post Office

A well-preserved historical post office from the Qing Dynasty. It is one of the oldest surviving post offices in East China. You can see old stamps, letters, vintage postal tools, and even send a postcard with a special old-style postmark.
6. City God Temple

A 250-year-old Taoist temple. It has classic ancient architecture, an old opera stage, beautiful wood carvings, and a 340-year-old ginkgo tree. It shows the traditional folk beliefs and local culture of Zhujiajiao.
7. Yuanjin Temple

A 680-year-old Buddhist temple located right beside the canal. It is peaceful and spiritual. You can climb the high pavilion to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the whole water town, including bridges, canals, and old houses.
8. Rowboat Ride

A classic water town experience. You will ride a traditional wooden boat slowly along the canals, passing under old stone bridges and beside ancient houses. It is like floating in a Chinese painting.
